NEWS
SCBWI SA Illustrator Coordinator
I’m pleased to announce that in July, I was appointed as the new Illustrator Coordinator (IC) for The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) South Africa region. Emily House, our previous IC, has moved into the role of Regional Advisor (RA) and left me some big shoes to fill. Emily has been such an inspiration and driving force for our local illustration community and I look forward to working with her and Yvette De Beer (our ARA) to keep our SCBWI chapter fun, useful and engaging.
SCBWI is an amazing resource for children’s writers and illustrators all over the world, and is a warm and welcoming community to be a part of. Take a look if you want to join or find out more: https://www.scbwi.org/
Interview on Kidlit411
I have also been featured in this month’s Illustrator Spotlight on the Kidlit411 blog. This was my prize for being chosen as a one of the banner competition winners, with my anteater banner.

And last but not least, I now have an agent representing me in the USA!
Kyle Williams of Wendy Lynn & Co is now repping my work to publishers in the USA!! This is kind of a big deal for me and very exciting. Kyle is helping me develop and prepare some stories of my own to pitch to publishers, as well as showing my work for illustration projects. He has been a fantastic sounding board already and I look forward to our journey together ahead.
SKETCHES
Some sketches from this past weekend at Umdloti beach. I started off trying to draw kids that were there, but they were moving wayyy too fast. The grown ups were a lot less active!
PS: I’m trying to build my mailing list as my main point of contact, because social media isn’t what it used to be. So if you’re not signed up yet and are interested in my illustration journey, latest work, sketches, and/or children’s books in general, please hit the subscribe button. You can unsubscribe at anytime if I get annoying. Please feel free to forward on to anyone else you think may enjoy this.
Thanks for reading!
